Dr. Frank Roland Schroeder received his diploma in Chemistry from the University of Goettingen, Germany. Following his PhD thesis in biochemistry at the Max-Planck-Institute for Experimental Medicine, he joined Henkel in 1985.

Until 1991 he specialised in biotechnology and quality assurance/GLP in both the Henkel Düsseldorf research centre and the Lion Corporation in Odawara, Japan. Subse-quently he joined the department of Ecology, focussing on environmental exposure analysis including environmental modelling and monitoring of environmentally relevant substances.

Currently he is Corporate Director and head of the sustainability/product safety department of the laundry and home care business unit of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA.
